Toxic and Unruly Work Environment - Pharmacy Technician Guardian Pharmacy Employee Review

Pros

Besides the basics (PTO, vacation, and benefits), there's free food provided for the employees from time to time and techs do help each other when things get crazy.

Cons

1) Management takes the side of the pharmacists, enabling their egos and if you have an issue with one of them, you will not be listened to but instead berated and reminded that your opinion doesn't matter because the pharmacist has 8 years of schooling and a PhD... 2) The workload is inhumane, especially near a holiday. There's about 7 stations and the pharmacy as a whole fills 10,000 patients a day which shouldn't be too bad with everyone helping each other and working at a decent pace but the issue comes when the pharmacy is short staffed...now everyone is doing everything at other stations causing stress. I witnessed a coworker faint and some newly hired techs quit on their first day. But none of the techs health matters as long as the patients get their medicine, right? 3) If you work here for a few months, you'll probably be proposed a new position which will sound great initially but will usually be something that you will regret agreeing to do as the unpleasant parts were purposely hidden from you since they desperately needed someone to fill the role. 4) Low pay for what is asked of you each day.

After 20+ years with Guardian Pharmacy, I can confidently say this has been a place where I’ve felt consistently supported and valued. Leadership truly cares about its employees, and managers actively prioritize professional development. Throughout my time here, I’ve been given meaningful opportunities to grow. The culture is another standout—collaborative, respectful, and driven by open, transparent communication. It’s an environment where your voice is heard and your contributions matter. I’m grateful to be part of a team that genuinely cares about both its people and their success.

Pros

-The company as a whole has good values. -The people who aren't in management are nice.

Cons

Horrible management team - Bullies (Denver, CO) -Very toxic workplace. It feels like a high school run by mean girls; the opposite of a nice, collaborative workplace. -"Do as I say, not as I do" mentality from management. -Little to no training. Pushed in the deep end and expected to be the best. -Very unsanitary workplace, rarely cleaned. -Unsupportive HR. HR received countless complaints from employees about management's behavior at the pharmacy, and nothing was ever done. Going to HR only leads to more problems and punishment for you. -No upward mobility opportunity. -Overall, the President here has no respect for her employees, and it shows. If you find yourself interviewing, make sure to ask about company culture, the turnover rate, growth opportunities, and why the position you're applying for is open. Just don't expect an honest answer; you will not get one.
