Pros
ros There are so many great things about working for Guitar Center. Right from the start of the inception of our Rock Star Lessons department, it was evident that emphasizing foundational techniques, gleaning from instructors’ knowledge and experience would establish a solid framework for students' musical journeys. Our exclusive curriculum (Hal Leonard & Guitar Center) is the best in my humble opinion. In addition to that, instructors are allowed to add their valuable expertise to provide the absolute finest training to students. Management and fellow instructors value excellence, integrity, and inclusion, creating a safe, educational experience for students and customers. The store managers are caring, helpful, positive and are always there for feedback and constructive comments. Our Executive Management and Human Resources teams are fair, honest and open for feedback. Over the past several years, there have been unexpected events which affected our economy and as many other companies have cut back, I'm happy that instead of making cuts, Guitar Center has fortified their Lessons departments opening new locations nationwide, nurturing programs, retaining instructors and continuing to provide great support to employees. feel that working with Guitar Center for the past 10 years has been interesting, creative and rewarding journey!
Cons
At one time I thought that a 'con' might be the cost-of-living verses salary but honestly after realizing that this is more of a global issue and not particularly a Guitar Center issue, I couldn't think of a better way to spend my time teaching professional and aspiring artists the art and language of music.
