Pros
Aerospace pay, decent work environment. I have to write twenty words to submit my review.
Cons
Was laid off as part of a 1700 employee reduction in force. This is a normal part of the aerospace industry - feast or famine, however, the way they went about it was so disappointing. It didn't matter what your contribution to the enterprise was, they looked for easy targets. They even brought gun-sniffing dogs to catch employees who had guns in their cars so they could fire them. It was just a process of finding the easiest targets. It isn't a great place to work. Period. It's just like everywhere else, this is the real world. They love hiring young people, interns and college grads, because they believe whatever you tell them. They're too young to know not to drink the Kool-aid. It is a place for brown nosers and yes men. If you are a direct engineer, it is almost impossible to move up and get promoted without the good ol boy system. Also, it's like that everywhere, but gulfstream is particularly bad. If you are a contract engineer, this is a great place to work. The money is great, and so much less bs. Contract is the only way to go. Never, ever, work here as a permie. Nothing you do will be appreciated. Management is a joke. You are just as close to the door as a contractor. The benefits suck now. There is literally no reason at all to work here as a permie if you are an engineer! You will be punishing yourself!
