Pros
H2M really excels at putting their employees first and staying true to their mission and values (a commitment that is often undervalued at other companies). In the time that I've been with H2M, I've seen firsthand why the company culture is so strong - every employee is respected and encouraged to grow and learn from their mistakes. Everyone from the staff level up to senior management shows a certain level of humility and recognizes that it's okay not to know something - which I have found very helpful in my process of growth and improvement. Working at H2M has changed how I view going to the office every day. Knowing that I’m not only valued for my work but also how I show up as a person every day has been incredibly motivating. I also feel very privileged to get to work as an engineer and have the ability to go home on time every day and pursue my personal life. I highly encourage other engineers to consider H2M, especially those who are beginning their careers and are looking for a place with a lot of opportunities to learn and grow.
Cons
I have no complaints. In fact, I'm very surprised by some of the negative comments on here about the culture, office politics, and pay. I guess with a company as large as H2M with so many disciplines and different groups, it's expected that some groups won't align with the company’s values - but from my experience, it is not typical. As for the pay, I have found it to be fair - but I also think It’s important to realize that H2M is not a company solely driven by profit - but rather by a balance of profit and social/environmental responsibility. I think it’s important not to take that for granted. That being said, you will certainly be rewarded for applying yourself - and to a degree, your pay is a reflection of your efforts and the quality of your work.
