Pros

If you're lucky you may be able to command a reasonable salary; especially if you've been transferred from another company as part of an outsourcing deal. The additional benefits are reasonable for a company of this size (pension, health insurance).

Cons

If you are not one of the team working in/from India, you will be at a serious disadvantage. Your job will be taken away from you, bit by bit, and transferred to India. This should surprise no one; it is exactly how HCL operates. If you have questions about training, about company policies, or anything even slightly out of the ordinary, you can keep on asking until you're blue in the face, and you will get no answer or just a brush-off. HCL has no interest in developing employees' skills and experience. This completely gives the lie to the "Employees first" catchphrase. Getting your travel expenses paid is a long-drawn-out nightmare. Getting travel approved is perhaps the most frustrating process ever invented - even when the customer requests your presence somewhere else in the world, HCL makes it incredibly difficult for you to be there. Don't work for this company. It's that simple.
