Pros

-The people I worked with were mostly great- there are management issues, if you have a good manager your experience will be much better! -Good compensation (at least pre-buy out) -Google Suite is used which is a pro for me, could be a con for someone whose experience is solely in Microsoft. -Growing customer base, the sales pipeline is set -Good products overall but some truly broken ones and some desperately needed features are delayed. Not sure this is a pro or a con but the company is currently being acquired by a huge private equity firm. If you’ve been at a company that’s been acquired before, you know what it’s in for. I truly hope they can keep these “pros” intact as things inevitably change.

Cons

A lot stems from the fact that the CEO/Founder is very traditional and gets the final say in nearly everything. He knows how to run a successful company, absolutely, but he is very out of touch with the day to day issues at the company and what the modern worker wants in 2021. -The people here are fantastic yet they are SO burned out. In nearly every department I interacted with burnout is a serious issue. The work has increased and hiring is not keeping up with the pace of increased workload. This doesn’t shock me as HCSS is not attracting the modern worker. Y’all need to hire if you’re gonna keep growing because your employees are burnt out from a crazy workload. -WFH is a huge issue, I saw a corporate reply to a review that they offer 2 days WFH for employees with two years of experience, but it is actually for two years of experience IN OFFICE— so if you were hired during COVID, you have to do two full years of 4 days/week in office to qualify for the two days WFH. They say it’s so you can get a feel for the company culture, which I understand, but that is at the expense of your employees work life balance. Again, not surprising given that they just finished building a third building, and now are paying for three buildings that they don’t want to sit empty. For people who live super close to the office or really like going into the office, I’m sure this isn’t an issue, but for people who enjoy WFH and the time not spent commuting, it’s a huge con. -Employees frequently get surveys and are asked for feedback on how things are going in the department, yet nothing changes. Or really small things change that don’t address the core issues. It gets really frustrating calling out the same issue over and over and management doing nothing. Tl;dr — if you’re thinking this is a progressive tech company, you are not in the right place. If you’re okay with an old fashioned but reliable place to work, then this is for you! It’s not a bad company but if you want a progressive or modern company this is not the place.
