Pros

Work hours are flexible, and employees can opt to work from home from occasionally. Executives for the most part have a strong knowledge of the HR industry.

Cons

Impossible to have career growth. Once you join the company, you will be stuck with the same set of roles and responsibilities. Compensation and benefits are significantly below market average. The software development process is like you are in the wild wild west. Everything is ad-hoc and there are no proper processes. Technical debt is extremely high.

HRWARE offers competitive salaries based on skills and experience as compared to PayScale surveys offered for our area of the GTA. While we are a small company, we offering challenging and interesting work with opportunities to participate in many different areas beyond your own team or department. We welcome and encourage initiative and provide the necessary training to enable both personal and career growth. At the time of this review, the product had not been officially released and was in the beta testing stage. Bugs at this stage are looked for and expected. HRWARE has diligently tested and documented our product and development was done under standard coding practices. Breakthrough technology was developed as proven by HRWARE's successful SR&ED claims for work done during this period.

Thank you for calling us "Nice". HRWARE prides itself on providing a supportive, helpful and friendly work environment. Our Brampton location is fabulous! A beautiful building in a tranquil setting with easy walking access to stores and restaurants. Plus, travel is against traffic during rush hour so the commute is easier. However, most of our employees have the opportunity to work from home. Salaries and Benefits are commensurate with skills and experience. Based on comparable job postings, I would say our pay is above average. HRWARE has solid documented development processes in place.

Pros

1. The development team was small when I left, providing plenty of room for challenging work for a new developer from the first day, as their new product was very actively getting feedback from a fairly large, untapped international market. 2. The development lead that was in place before I left is versatile and very easy to develop a great working relationship with. 3. This is one of the few companies I've worked for in Ontario that has a tremendous amount of respect for its employees. 4. Health benefits are great. 5. Work hours are flexible and opportunities to work from home are available to all developers.

Cons

The software platform is based on an old stack and a heavy dependence on the back end that can result in a compromised user experience and prove costly in maintenance. The small size of the development team didn't seem to allow for resource allocation to make architectural changes to resolve such issues, all in an effort to meet relatively short term release deadlines.
