Disregard for employee wellbeing and poor management - Server/Waitress Hatley Pointe Employee Review

This workplace lacked clear leadership and long-term planning. The restaurant had no consistent concept, and management frequently changed the menu, cuisine, and policies without notice—sometimes multiple times a month. These changes often resulted in lower food quality, higher prices, and confusion for both staff and guests, especially since online menus were not kept up to date. The location was remote, and the job was highly seasonal with inconsistent hours. There were extended periods with little to no business, followed by sudden over-seating on busy days that the kitchen and staff were not equipped to handle. This led to long wait times, service issues, and frequent customer complaints. Management and leadership were inconsistent. Expectations were unclear, cleanliness standards varied, and accountability often fell on a small number of employees. Lower-paid staff were frequently blamed for operational issues outside their control. Disorganization was common, including instances where the dining room was seated before the kitchen was ready to take orders. There were also concerns related to workplace professionalism and safety. Reports of inappropriate behavior were not addressed effectively, and during severe weather, staff were kept onsite without clear communication or a safety plan. Overall, this is not a stable or well-managed workplace, and I would not recommend it to prospective employees.
