Pros

- Generous benefits include healthcare (low premiums, and generous HSA contribution), dental, vision, life insurance, flexible (unlimited-ish) PTO, so many holidays; awesome allowances for home office equipment, fitness / gym memberships, home internet, cell phone, and an amazing education budget. - Leadership is very transparent, and the most sincere of anywhere I've worked. They don't just say that their employees are important, they show it through actions. They are willing to talk 1:1 with anyone. - The culture at Health Catalyst makes me feel like I'm in a safe environment where I'm respected as a person and not treated as a number. - Work-life balance is highly valued. - Very remote-friendly company. - The mission of Health Catalyst is truly meaningful and I actually feel like I'm part of something that improves lives and healthcare outcomes. This mission has been made relevant more than ever in the current situation of the world.

Cons

- Day-to-day work in the Professional Services department is highly dependent on each client. Most times you will be part of projects that are engaging and fun, other times they may be boring and repetitive. Occasionally client expectations may be unreasonable. - Could have some improved internal training courses for new employees and employees wanting to grow. However the company realizes this and has been making some great improvements over the past year with new programs currently being rolled out.

Thank you for your feedback and for your contributions within the Professional Services organization these past 1-2 years -- you are directly contributing to our client health systems' ability to use data & analytics to measurably improve. I'm grateful to you for being willing and committed to this mission and to operate right on the front lines. Thank you also for your emphasis of the importance of a manager in protecting team members, in advocating for them in difficult client settings or as it relates to career development and advancement. We will continue to emphasize and reinforce these behaviors as we interface each week with every people manager at Health Catalyst. I also appreciate the suggestions around how we might streamline career development -- we'll continue to work in this area and in the area of internal training as well! Thank you again for your direct contributions each day to our clients' success and to our achievement of the mission of the company. Best, Dan

Pros

Great Talent & Culture: The people here are highly capable, collaborative, and committed to helping each other succeed. The partnership between onshore and offshore teams works well and is a real strength. There’s a culture of grit and stability that has helped the company navigate multiple major transitions over the years. Mission-Critical Engineering: The work involves complex data infrastructure that requires deep technical expertise. It can be demanding, but seeing these systems run successfully and support real-world operations is consistently rewarding.

Cons

Wage Compression and Retention Risk: Compensation for tenured and high-performing staff has not kept pace with the market for specialized data engineering and support leadership. In practice, tenure can feel undervalued or even penalized. This creates risk around losing institutional knowledge and operational continuity. Stagnant Career Progression: Contrary to stated expectations, strong performance ratings do not consistently translate into meaningful, market-aligned compensation growth. The process of how compensation is benchmarked lacks clarity in practice, obscuring how compensation decisions are made and what is required to advance.
