Pros
I started working at the mental health initiative close to 3 months ago. I am in awe of the dedication and passion that the founders of Heart It Out have in making this an inclusive and non-judgmental space. Every psychologist who works here truly cares about their clients and goes the extra mile to teach student interns at every available opportunity. A lot of research and painstaking work goes into creating events and products. Heart It Out offers subsidies to students to make therapy more affordable and accessible - this is my favorite thing about the organization. Lovely work culture!
Cons
In any work in the mental health space, boundaries between work/life and professional/personal can get a little blurred. I find myself unable to separate work from life, but this is something I enjoy. This is not really a con because the other people employed here are extremely supportive. There is a culture of everyone building everyone else up!
