Pros
Good stepping stone to a better company. You learn a lot of hands-on engineering skills that will stick with you through your whole life. You with with them for 3-5 years and you will be very knowledgeable.
Cons
The company is full of sycophants and gossips. If you are not the manager's friend forget about getting a raise or promotion. All the managers have sub-contracting companies they give contract to. A lot kickbacks and bribery in my plant. The pay is an insult to all hand working guys. They promise so much but deliver very very little. I remember when I came for my interview; the made a lot promises to poach me from my former company and i felt betrayed when it took almost 1 year before I was confirmed and its been 3 years; no raise nor have I been given a pat on the back for all the endless night and overtime I put into my work. Appraisals are always pre-fixed. No matter how hard you work your manager will never give you good commendation.
