Pros

The mileage adds up and you realistically have no management because technician-SDM rations are 20-1

Cons

USA management is constantly working toward driving down the salary of employees. During my tenure they have halved the per mile rate you make for driving your own vehicle, removed the ability to be compensated for lunches you are forced to skip by management and remote dispatchers due to business needs, introduced a KPI based bonus system that cannot be achieved due to the indexes being controlled by a third party (EG if parts are not shipped to the client and you cannot complete a repair you have a negative KPI score) and now they will not pay hourly rates for travel time when travel is mandated by the company. This is likely illegal but absolutely immoral.

As for the mileage reimbursement program we implemented in the US market, it is a Fixed- and Variable-rate (FAVR) system, so it includes variables that take into account the differences in costs in different geographical areas, and so it will be higher or lower in different locations, but as such it is considered to be the fairest type of reimbursement system. We’re also disappointed to hear that you are not in close communication with your manager. Although you consider it to be a positive, we believe that a good connection with your manager based on trust as well as open and honest communication will make your job easier and more enjoyable, and it’s unfortunate that you are not experiencing this. Have yet to find any.

Cons

No yearly raises, takes too long or forgets to remburse for transportation. Unusually high expectations yet doesn't give enough work to meet those expectations, very small amount of holidays off; and on the holidays you work, you might not get tickets anyway so you might as well just get a paid day off anyway. Performance review is complete nonsense. They do not judge you by how good you are, and they also pay you hourly for jobs that one would normally get hundreds; sometimes thousands for. Your experience doesn't matter, they are greedy and don't care about onsite technicians.
