Pros

- Amazing colleagues, freebies, events, and remote work policy Seriously, your colleagues may be the only motivation to drag yourself to work. I've met some of the most amazing people working at HS. Too bad most of them are gone now.

Cons

- Complete lack of transparency, low salaries & messy practices This place is truly going downhill. After laying off most of the editorial team in NYC, the company just "eliminated" (the CEO's words) about 50 employees. The week prior, the COO re-assured us that we were going to be fine, regardless of the pandemic crisis. They should have informed people that lay-offs were probably going to be an option from Day 1. And don't let me start about the utter lack of POC in senior management positions. This placed is riddled with culture vultures. Stay away.

Thank you for your company review. We understand that going through layoffs is never an easy situation to process, especially during such uncertain times. Going into this pandemic, we as an organization took many measures to prevent layoffs. However, in the end, we had to make the hard decision to part ways with 51 employees across all seniority levels. We value the work of our employees past, present, and future greatly, and are immensely grateful for the contributions and hard work of those who were affected by the layoffs.
