Zero F's and No Communication - Traffic Management Operative Highway Traffic Management Employee Review

Pros

New Head Office Building 50 Hour Week Guarantee

Cons

There is zero communication between head office and other operatives. When a problem occurs they always want to blame the operatives instead of the coordinators. The need for initiative and individualism doesn't seem to exist here. The training courses are all over the place and a very hard to get. It's very clear to see that the company spends money on their coordinators and higher, as the coordinators like showing off their latest BMWs and Audi's and company vehicles. Everybody from coordinator upwards is a power hungry person that doesn't award or give back to the generic worker properly.

Pros

A family run business with good aspirations in terms of it's culture. A well recognised company within the sector with a reputation for quality delivery. There is opportunity, but there are lots of long term staff (which is a sign of the good culture), however this may restrict promotion for others.

Cons

Poor management style - whilst intentions are good and the work environment is friendly, the people management skills of senior staff are poor, which can lead to lack of direction and frustrations amongst staff.

Pros

Holidays, Job and knock shifts (12 hours pay if you're doing highspeed even if you do less than 12 hours). Bonuses via safety observations, Christmas time, etc. Good rates of pay £14.98ph for a 12 AB Operative

Cons

The cons to this job are: Favouritism Overtime pay can be constantly messed up. Some staff can be extremely rude but they'll be defended by management.
