Pros

Management cares about their employees. Everyone employs a work hard, play hard mentality. There are many times when you will need to put in extra hours, but the benefits and culture are excellent. Management encourages time off and time with family.

Cons

Only downside is at times the work life balance. There is unlimited PTO, but at times workload can prevent utilizing this.

Pros

A motivated environment where hard work is rewarded. Impactful team collaboration is the name of the game. Fantastic benefits.

Cons

Our focus has come a long way in terms of working towards a vision. This has allowed for more consistency in approach.

Pros

I’ve been with Hippo for 4 years and plan to stay for the foreseeable future, which says a lot. Overall, it’s been a positive experience. One of the biggest benefits has been flexibility as a parent. It varies by department, but in my team, I’ve been able to prioritize my growing family — especially with a 1- and 3-year-old and their unpredictable schedules. That flexibility has made a huge difference in this stage of life. Career development is also encouraged. Leadership supports setting goals and having open conversations about growth. I shared with my manager that I wanted to move up in the company, we created a plan, and I was able to achieve that goal. That level of support and follow-through meant a lot to me.

Cons

If you work on a smaller team, it can sometimes feel isolating or like you’re not always fully connected to the broader organization. While remote work is a major benefit, it can also feel lonely at times compared to being in the office. That said, for me, the trade-off is absolutely worth it to have the flexibility to raise young kids.
