Pros
As Good customer base. Overall not many issues to deal with in that respect.
Cons
Consistent overbuying of seasonal merchandise from the corporate level. There is NO increase in payroll to deal with the 15%-25% yearly increase of the seasonal merchandise. The only associates to do the work at that point is salaried management. This turns into six and seven day workweeks. If you have a family or have other activities outside of work; this is not the job for you. This is sad to say because I came to Hobby Lobby because of the Christian based family owned atmosphere. At store level, store managers deal with a variety of issues a Christian based company should not have to deal with: psychological warfare from corporate leadership, NEVER recognized for the time and hard work put into the store, consistently having to choose between family time and work time when you are supposed to be off work and the most abhorrent is the use of the Bible to justify why you have to deal with all this.
