Pros

The pay isn’t too bad and it’s equal across the board for associates. For the most part, you get left alone to do the jobs you’ve been given for the shift. No constant hounding or checking what you’ve been doing, as long as you get the work done they don’t mind. They’re fine with you going to get a drink or a quick chat, you don’t constantly need to be ON (some retail jobs I’ve had, I’ve gotten into trouble for taking a 2 min drink when I had tonsillitis!) Work is varied and there’s always something to do Career progression if you want Flexible shifts to fit around your life! Understanding of personal issues

Cons

Can be stressful during busy periods- when it’s busy, it’s REALLY busy Management can mess up the rota, and when they do they expect YOU to find cover for the shift Seem to prefer to overwork their current staff than train newbies/hire more people Discount is only 10% (occasionally 20 on some weekends) Managers are meant to brief you at the start of every shift but only do it about 50% of the time and then you get assessed on information they should have taught you during the briefs Don’t always get the training you need, sometimes they just chuck you in the deep end and hope you find your way up
