Pros
Decent trips, brand new jets, overnights in NW region including Canada and expanding to places like Dallas, St Louis and into California. With enough seniority you can consistently have 15days off a month. You are protected by a union. By working for Horizon, once you’re off probation you can apply internally to work for Alaska Airlines and you are guaranteed to have a face to face.
Cons
Pay is not competitive enough and with the new jets the service and quality of work is on par with what an Alaska flight attendant is doing but for half of the pay. New uniforms are even the exact same as Alaska flight crews. Consistently work 12hour days, multiple aircraft swaps throughout the day. Old Q400s can be very hot in the summer, freezing in the winter.
