Pros
My summer internship with HotelMap in 2018 was wonderful. Everyone I met there was very nice, super smart and incredibly motivated to get things done. The project I was working on was very interesting (and challenging). It was apparent that everyone in the team (even the interns) was given lots of responsibility as well as empowered to do what needed to be done - whether that means the ability to make decisions or the resources to do things. The overall culture was no-bullshit, get your hands dirty, think for yourself and make it happen. The founder and upper management were very nice and great coaches. They provided excellent guidance, feedback and advice but also listened to everyone's ideas - and the best ideas won. No politics, no bureaucracy, and a ruthless focus on results. Everyone at HotelMap is encouraged to question everything and suggest better ways to do things - even for the smallest details or processes. This stuff compounds over time and results in better processes and systems for everything! It was a great internship overall. I strongly recommend interning there to anyone who likes technology, startups, great work cultures, and a fun and enthusiastic approach to work and life in general.
Cons
I found it great and have no cons in mind. People with different personalities or preferences may have different opinions.
