Pros

Wonderful coworkers, actually helping clients, working in the field and office. Holiday parties. Meetings and forums. Building connections with personnel from other non profits and agencies

Cons

Caseloads, confrontational coworkers with past drug history that does not know how to conduct themselves in a work environment, directors that gossip all day, No open door policy. Be expected to hear exactly what you told the boss or what the boss said about you on any given day. policies that changes every day, people who get away with things all the time and are praised and covered. HR does a horibble job. High turnover rate in Bronx & Brooklyn offices. Ive worked in both offices... terrible experience at both especially at Bronx location.

Pros

I've been working at HOUSING WORKS for the past six months so far as a peer receptionist and I genuinely enjoy working here. Everyone I've come cross is so helpful, welcoming and friendly. Makes working here so pleasant and I look forward to the next workday. I love helping the clients and co works that are around me. Makes me feel like I've redirected someone that really needs help. It's such a great feel.

Cons

The only con is sense I'm a peer worker on SSI and can only work a curtain number of hours, I won't be able to become a permanent position at housing works. So unfortunately, I'll have to move on to a different place of work. When I really want to stay here. I want it so bad I'm willing to take less money.
