Pros

Houston Methodist is definitely patient focused. They do provide excellent healthcare. They take very good care of their physicians, nurses and allied healthcare employees. However....if you're in a non-healthcare position, that's a different story. Physicians regularly demonstrate a total lack of ICARE values towards non-clinical staff (including throwing temper tantrums if they don't get their way). Other departments rarely respond to emails or phone calls.

Cons

ICARE values aren't practiced internally - there is a lack of respect shown by physicians and others to any non-healthcare department. Unparralled is just a buzzword when it comes to looking at how some departments are run. Some are so filled with legacy people, there's no hope of change. HR locks in pay scales and isn't realistic about increasing them in order to keep good employees.

Great and friendly providers. especially when compared to another hospital in area that is for profit.

Cons

current unit is difficult, even though there are a ton of resources at hand
