Pros

There are not any as the cons out weigh this. The long hours and little bonus and increased cost of living does not justify the work life balance. The old school bonus was worth it but the company expects a lot more now and you receive less to make the shareholders happy.

Cons

CEO Andrew Livingstone is slowly Killing the Howden’s way & Culture. The micromanaging and getting regional directors and area managers to be his escape goat on passing messages on. Senior management and depot managers need to voice their opinions and push back on decisions that will eventually remove your autonomy if you don’t speak up. Andrew has over spent and it’s the depot managers on the frontline along with their staff that are feeling the pressures and are beaten with a stick every day to please the shareholders what they need to remember is that the staff are also shareholders and the family unit that once was has disappeared!

Pros

Great to work with, training provided with additional support from the other hubs outside London. Learnt a lot and helped in my career as a Contract Kitchen Designer. Pay increases every year. Good overall package in terms of holidays, sick pay and additional cost of living support (it happened maybe twice for the year). Christmas parties were great plus yearly Christmas hampers.

Cons

Little to no progression if you want to stay as a Designer, KPIs so expected to have a high turnover on projects, like 1-5 days for a project of 50 kitchen types. It not a job everyone gets even with the additional support.
