Pros
- opportunity to work in different project in different countries - acceptable benefits and PTO - structured career path that is fair
Cons
- will have to put up with bad overwork culture in project (long working hours no rest on weekends, expect to be available 24/7 even when the job does not actually require 24/7) - no OT for business trip application, but project will pressure you to stay and do unpaid OT - minimum action taken when feedback to supervisors regarding any sort of issue ( they just ask you to bear with the culture, and shift the pressure on you by questioning your competence ) - bad project managers in general - allowance isn't always satisfactory since the allowance given is based on the hardship of the country (eg: project in a higher hardship will exploit you more on the basis that you are getting high allowance, but working in a less hardship country will also end up getting exploit, only difference is less allowance) - pay in general for malaysian is roughly 1/3 of what chinese expats receive, but expect you to work like them - it is an technical role, but not much technical is involved ( a lot of unnecessary daily weekly monthly reports, powerpoint presentation) - project team may suggest you to not comply with visa rules in order to extend your stay in the project - some china staffs are unprofessional (foul language, shouting, humiliation)
