Pros

Some staff members are real gems who genuinely love and show up for the students.

At the time of the interview, Admin blatantly lies to you about things like benefits and accessibility to support. After being on the job, they will verbally retract the things that they promised you, which they make sure to not put in a written contract. "Anything they tell you, have them put it in the contract!". There's no opportunity for growth. They do not give raises, however they give bonuses that fluctuate and are not based on measurable performance. Admin looks out for their favorites. They also took away a scheduled bonus 1 month before it was due despite the company's continued growth and continued surplus of student enrollment. They care more about profit over people. They will be firm about not giving you a raise, yet they will hire new employees that hold the same position as you and pay them way more despite your years of experience, regardless of the years that you've committed to their company with no pay increase. It's just insulting. The school lacks adequate resources, and they will only purchase what they feel like purchasing despite items being a necessity for you to be able to do your job. School districts need to provide better oversight for programs like these, as students have hugeeee gaps in their schedules where they do not receive instruction or enrichment classes for an alarming amount of hours each day. Management does not care about you as an employee. Day to day, they boldly treat you as if you are replaceable, but conveniently will say that everyone is family when they are formally in a room full of people that consists of parents or city/district officials. Some students are highly unsafe with their behaviors, yet staff and other students have been put in unsafe situations that were easily avoidable. If you want to feel valued, this environment is not for you. The burn out is unimaginable and they are always understaffed, so you will constantly feel that pressure every single day. There are times when you'll have to advocate to have a lunch break due to lack of staff coverage, which is unethical. Employees are not robots, less consideration is given towards your overall mental and physical health. This place will stretch you thin. Run do not walk, or you'll learn from experience.

Pros

I worked at Hubbard for nearly a year. During that time I was afforded the opportunity to work with some of the most amazing people. The job was rewarding as every day we worked to improve the lives of children with disabilities. Great staff, beneficial training and great students. Great comradery with fellow coworkers. Management is understanding and they value you as an employee.

Pros

Working at Hubbard was a great way to connect with my passion for working with the special needs community. The people you work with are excellent and the staff are truly great people. Many of my previous co workers are still my friends. The school schedule is nice, and having several vacations throughout the year are a good perk.

Cons

Work can be very hard at times, there are many kids with high intensity behaviors, as is part of the schools mission. Staffing is an issue leaving people with irregular scheduling and coverage issues. Having your needs heard can be difficult as everyone is stretched thin. Turnover is of course relatively high and pay could definitley be better for the degree of work needed.
