Pros
The new office space is very refreshing. Staff are able to hot desk which helps employees to integrate with each other. The office is very bright and in a good central location for those travelling from all areas into London. Fruit and gluten free bread available for staff.
Cons
Although ‘Collaboration’ is one of the company values, very little collaboration actually happens on a day to day basis in the office. The CEO has the last word on most decisions rather than listening to other employees, such as younger talent who have fresh and new ideas. Working at Hudson Sandler can feel like being back at school; longstanding employees are unwelcoming which creates a divide in the office environment. The HR ‘support’ is very limited, with HR meetings regularly being cancelled or overlooked. It is very difficult for employees to seek support on workload, wellbeing etc as the HR support is not a full time presence. There are many bullies within the firm, sadly, this is ignored by senior management and HR. If you’ve got drive and ambition, Hudson Sandler is not for you, your enthusiasm will not be welcome and your ambition will be wasted. To gain experience and learn from those with experience, look to work for a bigger and more established firm that has success at winning new and interesting clients.
