Pros

Hybrid working Working for a charity supporting a good cause is nice.

Cons

CEO is an aggressive bully who doesn’t listen to anyone with any knowledge or expertise and is unpleasant to even be in the same room as. He will always have something to be awful to someone about and has created a toxic environment where bullying is allowed - provided it’s one of his cronies dishing it out. How the trustees decided this is the man for the job I will never understand. HR is more than useless and as soon as you raise any issue no matter how slight they will start trying to manage you out. The infighting in the senior leadership team is insane. One of the most toxic places I have ever had the displeasure of working at. No career progression, no learning opportunities, projects pulled last minute, ridiculous demands made and expected to follow up on in timeframe that is just not possible. This used to be a great place to work but as soon as the current CEO got in, it all went down hill quickly. It’s a shame as it’s a great cause and one we should be championing but massaging egos is more important to the management team. Do not trust any of the fake positive recent reviews that HR/SLT have clearly been writing. You WILL regret taking a job here

Pros

Some great people with a lot of dedication, and a charitable mission that deserves to succeed. Pleasant enough office and flexible working seems to suit many. Ok pay for the most part.

Cons

Directionless, largely due to low-calibre senior leaders. Culture of papering over cracks and going through the motions. Money wasted on pointless consultants and vanity projects. Very infrequent career opportunities, except when a meaningless new role is created on a whim. Frustrating place for anyone with a genuine desire to see positive change, or to develop their career without smoke and mirrors. There's more but you get the picture.
