Pros

I highly recommend working at IPVM, especially for journalists. IPVM is not like a typical newspaper; it operates more like a startup. This enables reporters to do their best work and get great scoops fast. When you find a great story, IPVM backs you 100%. Unlike many trade publications, IPVM really cares about exposing wrongdoing and publishing hard-hitting, high-impact work. IPVM has a strong moral compass (it doesn't run ads) so your story won't be killed because it may upset an advertiser. This is an especially great place investigative journalists. In terms of mentoring and support, IPVM provides extensive onboarding/training so the adjustment period is not particularly difficult. Finding story ideas becomes much easier with time and editors are helpful. The compensation and hours are also good and they are very remote friendly, a big plus.

Cons

If you enjoy working at large organizations with very predictable work, a big office, and lots of structured processes, this may not be the best place for you.
