Pros

Got paid. 3% of the people are decent human beings. Could listen to audiobooks all night and believe me- you'll need to drown out the gossip and negativity.

Cons

Incompetent, unprofessional, abusive, manipulative, and bigoted management at all levels. The regular employees are worse because they're trying to "out bully" each other to gain favor. Facility is old, run down, and smells of mold. It floods and gets sewage back ups when it rains but they want us to pretend it doesn't. Lots vermin- insect and mammalian. People cough, get migraines, and break out all the time. I found fungus growing in the toilet paper dispenser when a roll fell out. Managers prefer to bully people rather than become better managers. Promotions are based on nepotism, cronyism, and race. The more uneducated and backwoods you are- the farther you go and faster. The organization itself is mismanaged and inadequate. This place should have shut down 10 years ago.

Pros

-Got me started in my career as an auditor -thorough tax law training -many senior auditors helping you learn the profession

Cons

-communication from management is not always transparent -when you are at the bottom of the ladder, you get verbal abuse from not only POA and taxpayers (understandable, given this is the IRS), but also management/OJI's. They want to look good to their bosses and will throw you under the bus if they have to in order to save themselves. Even if they gave you instructions that got you in trouble. They SHOULD be supporting you in your function as an auditor, but they'll do whatever is easiest for themselves ultimately. -on job training can be disorganized -bureaucratic culture -like many other companies, a lot of things you're expected to learn by yourself. Such as how to avoid POA delays.
