Coming from a healthcare background, i had no experience in sales or marketing prior to working at iconic. I was slightly confused as to what i wanted to do for a career. I just knew i wanted a challenge, I wanted someplace that allowed me to develop as a person. When offered a position i was told by my own family that it was definitely something i could not do, as i was a naturally shy and anxious person who lacked the confidence in communicating with people, most people mistook my shyness as arrogance. Im glad that i took the opportunity, the person i have become due to the constant support and training received by everyone at the office is a complete opposite to what i use to be. No-one that truly knows me can believe the transformation in me. Im more confident, more driven and most importantly i have a clear direction of where i want to go in life. I know with the continuing support from everyone in the office, i will further grow as a person into an independent business woman. Of all the pros of working at iconic such as the dinners, new suits and travelling to other countries such as portugal all expenses paid, the one thing i love the most is having that sense of control over my progression, pay and most importantly building my future as I want it, not as how others see it.

I really cannot see any cons as i truly enjoy what I do. Others may say its hard work, long hours and it does challenge a person emotionally, physically and mentally. But i want to achieve extraordinary things so I welcome the challenges if it means i develop quicker.

I was working as office administrator for Iconic Event Strategies from the summer of 2014 to the summer of 2015 and in the last year I have learned more than I ever thought I could, developed both personally and professionally and met some of the most awesome people! Never before had I ever worked in a place where people were actually happy to be at work on a Monday morning! Everyone is extremely passionate about their careers and while they all work extremely hard on their own goals, there is an incredible support network where everyone helps each other out and offers advice and guidance. It's the best, most fun work environment I've ever experienced. Like a work family! The level of training and support offered by Iconic to the whole team is incredible. I can honestly say that I think I learned more for free in just a few months there than I did doing a 3 year degree that cost me thousands! There is huge room for growth and progression and the 'no seniority' policy means that people's hard work is always recognised and celebrated. Hard work actually pays off! I found this to be a much more fair way of doing business than other companies I've been involved in. What you put in is what you get out.

If you really want to progress then you do have to work very hard and really commit yourself to improving and learning. It's tough and not everyone can hack it, but for those who do, it really can be a life changing opportunity!
