Pros

I've been with Idealshape for 3 months now and it's been a fantastic place to work so far. Real opportunity to have hands on responsibility from day 1 doing a job where we get to transform and improve lives. Great progression routes within the parent company The Hut Group and bonus program that rewards delivering results and going above and beyond.

Cons

It's not a job, it's a career and it can be an intense working environment where you have to work hard to do well. Things moving around quite alot but I guess that's the nature of a fast growing place.

Pros

People here are awesome. Great brands and good people. Pickleball Stocked fridges (sometimes) The products we sell are awesome and actually help people

Cons

IdealShape was a fantastic place to work until The Hut Group acquired it in 2016. The same day we were acquired, people were let go for no reason and no warning. Fast forward 7 months later and several changes later, I've learned one thing: THG is all about money. They won't spend any more than they have to on marketing and wonder why sales and acquisition are down. They are VERY numbers oriented which is great until reporting on numbers takes hours upon hours every week. Teams struggle because they are understaffed, people often do the work of 2-3 people. The original mission of IdealShape (transform and improve lives) seems to have been smothered by the new mission of numbers numbers numbers, make money make money make money. If it wasn't for the awesome people I would have left already. Oh and pay is average. I've been here over a year and they started someone at the same pay I had to work up to with the same qualifications. Not sure if that's sexism or just the nature of working for a new parent company. I feel like people are mostly just running around like a chicken with no head, so much to do but not enough time to do it, unless if you work 80 hours per week but some of us would still like to have a life.
