Pros

I came for a summer internship before my final year at university. My goal was to gain some real work-life experience but the development during the short I was there was incredible! - The art of sales and persuasion, interviewing skills and most importantly the ability to coach a develop people. Some great transferable skills.

Cons

More of an intensive learning experience rather than a job, learnt some great skills but required a lot of time and effort!

Pros

Hard to name any

Cons

Some weeks ago, I attended an interview believing that I was going for the role of “brand manager”. Instead, I was driven out to a dump of a place with flats that looked and smelt like a drug den. On their website, it claims that the CEO is “happy to invest vast amounts of time and energy into growing his business with the right types of people”. What he has delicately left out is that he will employ any old mug who will go and cold call on those who have low income, and force them to buy something they do not want. After informing them that they had clearly misled me, I was told that I had to make my own way home and pay for it out of my own pocket. Essentially, if you want to work for a deceitful and unprofessional company then Imperium is the one for you.

Pros

After 4 weeks of working in the business, I was sent to New York to attend a rising star meeting, all expenses paid. It was a great opportunity to meet other people in the business and see first hand how far you can develop professionally and personally

Cons

It is hard work and the hours are long
