Pros
Learning about the music agency world with a roster full of legendary clients and artists. There are a few people who work there and still work there who are good people, hard working, empathetic, and still share a love of the music, and a semblance of human decency. There can be great opportunities that come from having noted your worked here as it is still considered an established company.
Cons
Perpetuates a toxic and abusive working culture. I experienced firsthand workplace abuse from a coworker that was noticeable and had been experienced by others in the company as well. Yet the hire ups refused to do anything about it even though it was openly known and extremely apparent. The only thing that could explain their acceptance of this behavior is that they were hiding something or protecting themselves from potential blackmail from this employee. To this day, I know this person’s behavior is still happening and has been brought continuously to HR and the hire ups and nothing is being done. My advice to anyone looking to work for a music agency; don’t work at this agency. It is filled with misogyny and acceptance of in appropriate behavior. And even if you learn something from it, it can lead to severe workplace PTSD.
