You will gain a considerable experience in running a ship, a very good and disciplined life, all facilities including accomodation will be near and most importantly you will be living in a good city which will have most of the facilities.
Cons
Sailing is a basic requirment in navy. Because of pyramidical organisational structure, career progression is challenging. You need to be a yes man to move up in the ladder. There is no fixed time of work. It depends upon the quantum of work.
