Pros

The flexibility of working remotely was a major highlight, and the majority of my colleagues were genuinely kind and dedicated to making a positive impact

Cons

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend working here. They claim to be all about Indigenous values, but it doesn't feel like it at all. There's no Elder Council, and the organization seems pretty disconnected from actual community work. The only people who seem to stick around are those who go along with their toxic culture. Management is all about power and control—speak up, and you're out. The turnover rate is super high, and the board does nothing to support or protect the staff. The whole place has a negative vibe, and even the Indigenous communities don't respect the organization.

Pros

There is flexibility in the remote aspect of work.

Cons

There is a huge sense of toxic positivity at this organization, where higher management are completely disconnected by front facing teams. I have seen team dynamics where it is normal for team members to: - arrive 15 minutes late to attend client facing meetings/teach classes. - be given more than adequate time to develop projects, only to lie about progress in meetings and have little to nothing to show before a client facing deadline. Due to the remote nature of this position, there is a huge lack of responsibility found in some teams, resulting in a half baked experience for mentees and terrible collaboration experiences. These issues have been brought to immediate management multiple times, where no actions were taken to coach, support, or remedy the situation.

Pros

Remote work culture and great core values as an organization

Cons

Poor upper management with a lack of technical experience for delivering technical programs. There is a lack of accountability in management to delivering programs effectively and on time. The lack of technical expertise across the organization made it difficult for programs to be effective and meet the high expectations from management due to this disconnect of experience.
