Pros
The people. For the most part, I love the people I work with. However, people are fearful for their jobs and it is impossible to function effectively when you are afraid of the "tap on your right shoulder". I used to love the culture. Layoffs started last week with qualified, competent workers being let go and others (SVPs, VPs, etc.) choosing to leave voluntarily. Rumors are 25% of the company will be let go within the next several weeks.
Cons
The acquisition promised positive changes, expedition of development, and investments in the people, company, and products. So far, we have seen significant culture changes for the worse, lay-offs (with more rounds being threatened), re-organizations, hot-tempered leader(s) brought in by Silverlake, and senior level leaders that use to be within reach, become inaccessible by staff, and increasingly non-transparent. Also, ask anyone (even those in the "group") - there is a good old boys network in place and it is difficult to integrate among them. It's not what you know, but who you know at Medseek. Heard there are power struggles at the top between senior level execs and the investor group which is obviously creating mass instability, chaos, and uncertainty.
