Management loves to assign heavy responsibilities and multiple job roles to the few people in the company, rather than hire enough people for the job. Crunch, long hours, and unhappy clients are commonplace due to unrealistic expectations of employees, and unrealistic promises to clients. The constant, normal energy in the workplace is "everything is on fire". This job caused me egregious burnout, and to feel anxiety to even walk into the office each day. After 5 years of work with the company, I was laid off without any prior notice, just a phone call after work one day saying not to come into work the next day. Walla Walla office is treated inferiorly to Seattle. There are no management personnel in Walla Walla office at all, and you're lucky if they visit every other month. Even then, they're likely to wander off and spend time sightseeing Walla Walla or have a meal with each other rather than be available to assist you. Due to the "someone quits or is laid off, and instead of hiring more we shuffle those duties to other people" environment, management and teammates become harder and harder to get a hold of as they become distant, working on these new duties, roles, and unrealistic expectations of clients. This leads to frustration and people leaving the company, and this perpetuates the cycle.
