I really enjoyed working at the school. The team were supportive. The school had a good culture in terms of the quality of education and expectations of behaviour.

The role can involve balancing many responsibilities including classroom support, interventions, safeguarding and administrative tasks, which can occasionally make workload challenging. However, line manager and SLT were good at listening and supporting.

The majority of staff truly care about supporting children’s learning.

The school workplace culture was extremely toxic, cliquey, and office politics was exhausting. I was harassed by a senior colleague and consistently minimised by senior leadership and HR after reporting my concerns. I was then victimised for reporting the incidents by other colleagues. I didn’t feel adequately supported by management after this incident and I wasn’t able to perform well due to the psychological impact. I can’t speak on the culture of other schools in the trust but this experience was so damaging to my mental health and confidence being new in the workplace.
