Pros
The insurance staff are really dedicated to doing a good job for customers. They go the extra mile when bad luck befalls people. I wasn't really expecting to see an insurance company's claim handlers genuinely wanting to spend the company's money to fairly help people in need, but they do. It creates an aura of being other people's parachute, which is great.
Cons
Two very separate companies. Commercial and Personal Lines. They take it in turns to prop each other up and general employees just get to watch two older siblings fight. That's the perspective from an IT person's point of view.
