Pros
This is a great stepping stone to gain actual laboratory experience outside of college. There are lots of instruments and different tests to learn and perform to get a good start in this career path. The lead and senior chemist are very helpful when it comes to asking questions since they actually know what they're talking about. They also don't push their own work onto you.
Cons
Unfortunately the manager and remaining coworkers don't really know what they're talking about and when you ask for further clarification, they get mad and start berating you. They also treat all new people like they're stupid and should know everything. There's a reason new people are considered new people. The other "self-proclaimed" seniors also like to push their work onto you while they just sit at their seats playing with their phones. This is unfortunately common since all new people are treated this way, Examples are include throwing away samples, logging in reagents, making copies, taking over their tests, cleaning up after their messy lab benches, etc.
