Pros

The work is very engaging and customers are generally great to work with. Coworkers are awesome scientists who generally work together collaboratively.

Cons

Post-acquisition by Calyx/CapVest, things have gotten very bad. Benefits have been stripped- benefits which primarily impact women and young families. Parental leave has been halved to 2 weeks, and minor holidays (school/daycare holidays) have been taken away. This company is not family friendly and is not interested in staying competitive in the market with their benefits. If you are a young professional who is considering starting a family soon, this is not the place for you. Salary is lower than industry standard, but historically benefits have made up for this. Without these benefits, there is very little incentive to stay long term.

Pros

Work less than 8 hrs during slow times, young workforce, very casual. Some recent changes in management/director has made things look better.

Cons

A complete mess of a company that treats you like a number from high management that will never meet you. Lab conditions and treatment from old managers has left me traumatized with how stressful the job is. The pay is an embarrassment for the kind of work you are put through here. The staff has had almost a 100% turnover within 4 years. The tech is outdated throughout, and processes are often a rushed hack job while management appeals to unrealistic timelines at the mercy of their sponsors. On-site staff are overworked, managers are working 70+ hrs /week. Remote workers do nothing to help the drowning staff there. HR does NOT exist until it’s time to fire someone and play damage control. The benefits are expensive and no one helps you through it. This is a failing company with a dark cloud of corruption looming over it.
