Pros

IPSA provided a fair hourly wage and was very flexible with my hours, allowing me to attend school full time while working. I was also allowed to grow in my role and feel like my contributions were valued.

Cons

Not too much room for growth within the organization, though a lot of that has to do with the size of the company.

Pros

Staff was cool and easy to work with, they had in-house guard training/annual re-certification classes (pretty sure they had training for armed guards as well). As far as the actual work goes, I only did special events and I can only tell you what that's like, but in general everything's very organized, you're sent out to each event with clear directives and you're rarely working alone. Supervisors are always floating around and are readily available if you need assistance. Pay depends on your experience and what type of jobs you do for the company (I came on to do special events and had 7 years of security experience at that point and I was making $14 an hour, but I was referred to them by an employee, so YMMV), but I didn't notice anyone complaining about low pay.

Cons

Due to the nature of event security, your being able to work mostly depends on whether or not events are booked by any clients. Also if they call you to see if you can come in and you decline, they'll start to see you as unreliable and you might as well kiss the job goodbye so be available lol
