The more visible you are at kissing up, the more likely you will be rewarded.

If you don't kiss up and make yourself visible to everyone, then you won't be rewarded Power struggle between upper management put too much emphasis on who is in control instead of what is good for the company. Most of the time you don't know who is calling the shot. Lots of questionable decisions that were borderline illegal business practices. Lots of incompetent people, especially middle management. Reviews are made by people who have no clues on what you are doing. Salary sucks.

The company is being bought out so the culture has totally changed. Most people are gone or going. It was a good place to be, the people were great overall. Salary left some to be desired, increases have been a joke, benefits were what should be expected. Senior management was approachable and generally easy to talk to. There were some politics within some groups, if you weren't in the right crowd you could easily go unnoticed even if you were stellar. I never saw much negative volatile arguing aside from a couple instances but this was far from the norm.
