Pros
Paid health insurance, has high deductible but company provides HRA account that covers almost all of it
9 hour days 1 hr of overtime built in
Start with 3 weeks vacation
Pays well compared to other manufacturing companies in the area
Owners very down to earth and interact with employees regularly (small company)
Often have fun events and raffles
Have food trucks regularly, often complimentary
Good advancement opportunities and they give you a 2 year plan with raises laid out upon hire
Apprenticeship programs available
Company likes to “up-skill” employees into better more skilled positions
Very quality focused
Nice cafeteria complete with vending machines
VERY CLEAN shop, probably the cleanest I have ever worked in.
Cons
Often 10 hour days based on part output
Very tight tolerances often +\- .005”
Some parts very complex with many features that must be completely free of marks
Supervisors are stuck in the “old ways” often hindering the progress/ direction change the owners are trying to do
Even if you’re on daylight shift you have to work afternoon shift every few weeks (6 straight months due to covid at one point)
Use a lot of older dies that are prone to breaking
Operator also does job of die tech often and is paid less for the same amount of work
24 min lunch (strict about this)
