Pros
JLM is a very fast paced environment and has a solid core of very friendly, hardworking employees and very talented designers. There is rarely down time so if you like to be kept busy it is a create place to call home. Employees wear a lot of different hats and get involved in a good mix of business and creative projects. I have worked at JLM for over 5 years in a variety of roles and there isn't a day that goes by that I haven't learned something new. The CEO is a brilliant businessman and a great person to learn from which is probably why the company has so many long term employees. I have not seen much employee turn over at all which is very unique for the fashion industry. There is also a good amount of creative and discretionary freedom. It's not an overly corporate environment, so if you have a good idea, it's easy to put it into motion without having to shoot things up a crazy corporate ladder- which means things actually get done! Since JLM still produces the majority of their products in the USA you can touch & feel the product, and see the collections in person as they are being designed and developed... another rarity for the Garment Industry!
Cons
The New York Headquarters has two locations, both located in the heart of the Garment District about a block away from each other so there's a lot of back and forth between the buildings.
