Pros
JLR produces some segment-leading and desirable vehicles. Some of my job role activities are enjoyable. People generally work for the good of the business. The business is good at managing a crisis.
Cons
A significant proportion of JLR leaders have a low level of emotional intelligence and are burdened with arrogance, incompetence and weakness in equal measure. This is borne out in warranty costs that leaders struggle to control, slow engineering decision making, some poor attribute balancing and the inability to deliver programs to a timing plan. I raised an issue with a leader of the business and they took no interest. Outwardly they care, but when it comes to proving the rhetoric there is a distinct lack of action. This makes JLR a frustrating place to work and fosters a culture of cynicism. I do not feel valued in my role and have a low level of job satisfaction.
