Pros

Free meals everyday and a decent discount on products we sold

Cons

Long and back to back shifts. Worked at the donut bar and would constantly have issues with machines that would be faulty or breaking weekly meaning a lot of stressful mornings. Management weren't the best and wouldn't really listen to any issues we brought up nor would take any feedback. Had to correct other employees myself who were handling food without considering cross contamination.

Pros

Gives you the basic experience as a retail assistant with cash handling and customer service

Cons

There are so so many issues that I realized while working at one of the branches. The amount of favouritism there was towards specifically Asian staff was undeniable, and white non Asian staff who did join (particularly male) essentially got picked on and bullied and were assigned extra tasks until they inevitably quit. They were easy to employ anyone which at first would sound like a pro, but it meant that some staff could barely speak English nor understand the importance of food safety. Specifically allergens. And couldn't understand the concept of cross contamination which was concerning with the vast amount of food handling. The turnover rate was shockingly high and while working there it was very obvious and vocalised by the other staff members that they weren't happy being there or happy with upper management. The workload was also very heavy. Currently no longer working there but am now hearing they only employ japanese staff and there is a very clear division between the Japanese and non Japanese staff in terms of favouritism from the upper management.
