personal development is no longer important after the acquisition, there are promises of advancement/promotions when signing on but are very rarely followed through. the promotion process is arbitrary and unfair (extremely political and managers are forced to bucket their employees into a curve no matter the team size or performance compared to other teams). Walmart has turned a fast paced, high functioning work environment into just the opposite. the work life balance does not exist, get ready to work 80+ hours a week, every single week- through holidays, weekends, etc. you are expected to be on call 24/7 and if not, you are penalized when it comes to yearly reviews.
