Pros

-Students are friendly, approachable, and create a sense of community. -Great coworkers and colleagues willing to support each other. -Manageable workload. -Collaborative opportunities with staff and faculty pending the department.

Cons

-Leadership was questionable and at times unorganized. -Leadership was often invisible and took a "hands off approach" when it came time to being visible and present in the community. -Often critiqued more than provided helpful feedback and guidance. -Experienced microaggressions here-cultural competency is needed as some individuals seemed to have trouble working with people who look, learn, and were outside of the status quo -Department was cliquey and showed favoritism to individuals they supervised.
