Pros
This is a stable company with reasonable good benefits, many people work here for more than 10 years. The work time can be managed by employees. The time lines are set reasonably. In this company there are talented engineers in world class. The management people are proud of the management. Resources and materials are well-managed. The company applies strict balanced scorecard plus 6-sigma management styles.
Cons
The company favors message going top-down. The management team is too "strong" to accept advices. It is very common that in a meeting there is no advices/complaints/objection from the bottom side, while the managers are proud of it. The overhead to do a task is very high, technically or in management. There are two reasons contributing to this, one is that the managers are very young, seldom know the technology details or the full story; another is that reward or credit is normally proportional to the importance or eye-catching of the task, not the challenges. The overhead might be created on purpose and accumulated years over years. That is why the company always wants to cut the costs but in vain.
