Pros

As long as Chris Weiler remains at this company, and steadfast as leader of decisions and overall company objectives, Ldiscovery will be in good hands. He was incredibly fair, patient, and provided ample opportunity to those who were willing to step up and show they can handle what he needs from them. I don't know if this is still the case, with the sheer size of the company, but in the early days this fact held true year after year. Salary basically doubled in a few years.

Cons

At the time, prior to acquisition by Carlyle Group, LDiscovery was a booming startup. As things grew quickly, the need for vertical position changes came quick as well. Instead of hiring new talent outside, there was a lot of internal promotion. By all means, this is something many current employees would like to see at a company. However, several positions that were primarily responsible for overseeing day to day operations and managing people were filled by people with very poor people skills and ruthlessly vindictive temperaments. From gossip between other former employees, it seems that after the Carlyle acquisition some of the same people still remain - but were forced to attend HR training once turnover hit an all time high. It's something I still consider to be highly disturbing of the culture there - and I would recommend that anyone who might seek employment here proceed with caution. There is no work life balance. None for the employees, and if possible, even less for project management teams. Everyone is always overworked. And everyone works weekends. Heck, full time employees to this day - from what I understand - occasionally work weekends. At what point do you say a salary is worth having no free-time for your health or your family? I felt pressured for just wanting to make sure I got an hour of gym time in a day, and whenever I went on vacation the first two or three days off had me in panic attacks from the concern over stuff at work.

Pros

The people under previous CEO leadership- many no longer here

Cons

Micromanagement to the extreme under new leadership. New CEO has failure to see big picture, or lack of interest to and on boarded to this company only to lead in outsourcing positions to India and transition most positions to AI. Not really making any effort to know his collegues. Writing is on the wall. The countdown is on!
